Groundsfest ’24
Show work is always hard as we build the stand, sort out all the planting, then man the stand for two days before taking it all down again. The real hard work began on Sunday September 8th at Groundsfest ’24, held at Stoneleigh Park. We had a new stand, in a different part of the show – L64 indoors.
At Groundsfest ’24 we focussed on “BNG Solutions” and our core products – Premium Turf, Meadowmat wildflower turf and Enviromat sedum. Sedum featured as part of a lightweight roofing kit, as groundcover and as an extensive roof application.
We were really pleased to be able to support Groundsfest in its second year where we had specialists on turf, sedum and wildflower turf on our stand during the show. So we were able to talk all things turf, wildflower turf, sedum and everything in-between. With a great range of products for landscape and green roof applications we were also able to talk bespoke mixes as well as standard products.
The planning for the show started months ago. If I’m honest I wasn’t sure how the concept would work; we weren’t sure what planting we would have available; we weren’t sure how we could build it or whether it would all work.
As ever its teamwork that brings it all together. Our Transport Manager began with a simple 2D plan in Excel. The concept of the roof terrace came from our MD. Our Operations Manager worked with our Mat Products Manager to work through the planting. We found new suppliers for the screens and backdrops and our Creative Designer came up with the design. Over several days the design became nine separate decks designed for planting and walkways plus two backdrops mimicking the skyline from a roof terrace.
But the concept worked, we had planting from across our product range, we did build it and it worked brilliantly. So well in fact that we won Best Indoor Stand.
Great job all round.
