Harrowden & DLF have joined forces to dramatically increase the range of specialist grass seed available nationally.

Initially, Harrowden is making over thirty different varieties of DLF grass seed available through its popular Turfonline retail website. For landscapers and B2B customers the products can be ordered and delivered from its four depots in Islip, Kettering; Feltwell, Norfolk; Runcorn and Edinburgh.

Primarily, the specialist DLF varieties will complement Harrowden’s own domestic Jubilee grass and Meadowmat wildflower seed varieties. Through its Masterline, Masterline Land Reclamation and Masterline Landscape ranges DLF has developed seed for specialist applications. Notably, golf courses, cricket pitches, coastal locations, wetland and renovation applications among many others.

DLF – Innovation.

Innovation and plant breeding is at the core of the work done by DLF. In order to deliver their R&D teams work to evaluate multiple plant generations and select the right individuals to create the new varieties. It’s an elimination race – always ending up with winners.

DLF has one of the world’s largest research and development programmes for both turf and seed. It works consistently to improve the quality and reliability of all varieties. They focus on fine-leaved, dense varieties with outstanding disease, wear and drought tolerance. Their Masterline® mixtures are designed to comply with demanding professional usage and their mixtures are used for prestigious projects like football stadiums, golf courses, parks and residential areas.

But, innovating new and better products for customers is a tough task. Collaboration is key to ensuring high-quality data is collected, the right decisions are made, and the best products progress to commercialisation.

Harrowden Specialisation

Harrowden by comparison has become a national horticultural grower. It specialises in amenity lawn turf, wildflower turf, sedum blankets, topsoil, plug plants, grass and wildflower seed. They also supply an extended range of carefully selected trade-rated horticultural products and tools. Using their full range both professional contractors and retail customers alike can deliver outstanding results.
