Harrowden has moved up from being a “bronze” FORS company to being a “silver” FORS company in the latest round of submissions.
Fundamentally, FORS – or Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme – is recognised as the route to excellence in fleet management. It is a voluntary accreditation programme designed to improve standards in the road transport industry.
Not only does FORS assesses and recognise fleet performance in key areas: environmental impact, safety, and operational efficiency. But it also provides a framework and sets benchmarks to help operators enhance their performance in these areas.
FORS offers progressive levels (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) for continuous improvement and recognition.
Its training and accreditation from Bronze through to Gold will progressively drive more efficiencies across our business. So, it is making us safer, smarter and greener, delivering cost savings and increasing revenues. FORS will also help us develop and improve our road transport and CSR policies.
Boost customer retention
Our customers can see that we’re committed to continual improvement, contributing to and investing in our own safety and sustainability, strengthening our business relationships and hopefully increasing loyalty.
Win more business
FORS is a guarantee of best practice across our business, and as we progress from Bronze to Gold it becomes an increasingly useful tool for winning tenders and contracts.
The standard is designed to promote cleaner vehicles on the roads as well as more fuel-efficient practices effectively reducing environmental impact. Driver training and effective safety measures are designed to reduce accidents and incidents on the road and on-site. The measures are also specifically planned to streamline operations, cut costs, and optimise routes.
