Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is an efficient and cost-effective planting method. It uses a slurry mixture of seeds, mulch, water, fertilizer, and tackifier to promote fast and healthy plant growth.

This technique is commonly used for large-scale landscaping, erosion control, roadside vegetation, and lawn establishment. Unlike traditional seeding, hydroseeding provides better moisture retention and faster germination. It also improves seed-to-soil contact, making it an excellent choice for establishing new vegetation.

The hydro seeding process has two key components. Mulch, which helps support moisture retention, soil protection, and seed stabilization. The mulch in a hydroseeding mix is typically made from wood fibre, paper, or straw.

The Tackifier is a sticky substance added to the hydroseeding mixture to help the mulch and seeds stick to the soil. This is particularly important on slopes, hillsides, and areas prone to erosion. Slow-release fertiliser is a key ingredient in hydroseeding. It provides essential nutrients to seedlings over time.

Unlike traditional fertilisers that deliver nutrients all at once, slow-release fertilisers gradually break down ensuring a continuous supply of nutrients.
