Ordered this at the end of February but waited several months to give a proper review. This stuff is great. It takes a little while for the flowers to come up but now we've got a proper cottage garden. We have hundreds of bees coming into the garden and we've even got mining bees. The speedy way to create a wildlife-friendly patch in your garden. Each variety of Meadowmat Wildflower Turf is a colourful mix of flowering plants and grasses all growing strongly on our proven matting system. Wild flowers can be notoriously difficult to establish in a garden – but not if you use our Meadowmat Wildflower Turf. When your Meadowmat arrives, simply unroll it then lay onto prepared ground, keeping it watered until the roots settle.

FAQs

Can I leave Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum overnight and lay it the next morning? - We always recommend that any living product is laid on the day that it is delivered. In cold weather it may be ok to be left for one night, but if you do need to lay it the following day, we advise that each roll is unrolled and watered. For more information see our guide
How tall does Meadowmat grow? - This depends on the variety. A flowering height of 30-90cm is common. All of our wildflower products are trimmed prior to despatch to protect the plants from damage in transit. The height at despatch is approximately 10cm. Then, all you have to do is choose which type of Meadowmat you think will work the best for you and your garden and order online. When your Meadowmat arrives, simply unroll it then lay onto prepared ground, keeping it watered until the roots settle. Then, let mother nature do the rest!

Each piece of Meadowmat is nurtured from seed to dispatch by a small team working on our production unit in rural Norfolk. It’s important to us that our different types of Meadowmat are as natural as possible. It’s grown out of doors and wherever possible we choose UK sourced seeds. We avoid using pesticides during the growing process and instead, we welcome a host of insects and mammals to enjoy the plants as they develop.

To get the very best from all our different types of Meadowmat, we recommend that it is installed onto low fertility soil. On “ordinary” garden soil there is a risk that the grasses outcompete the flowering plants.
