The new Garden of Remembrance at East Princes St Gardens in Edinburgh opened in November. We supplied turf for the site in the heart of the Scottish capital.
Around 60 veterans were joined by military chiefs, emergency service personnel and politicians for the ceremony. The Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Rt. Hon Donald Wilson, and Veterans Minister Keith Brown MSP were among the guests.
Members of the public watched as the veterans paid tribute to their fallen colleagues laying wreaths, poppies and wooden crosses.
We were honoured to contribute to the event supplying turf ensuring the Garden of Remembrance looked its best for the opening.
Mr Wilson emphasised the importance of a space to remember the sacrifices so many made.
“It is a place to pay respects to the lives that have been lost and sacrifices made by so many courageous men and women. I urge Edinburgh residents and visitors, workers and commuters, to pay a visit; make a donation or to simply take a quiet moment to reflect.”
