The newest Green Screen variety in the Mobilane range, Euonymus fortunei “Dart’s Blanket”. Also known as “Spindle”, this new addition follows in the same tradition, densely covering the metal grid that is synonymous with Mobilane Green Screens. In short, Euonymus is planted into a trough of coconut fibres bound together with a natural latex. Then the trough is filled with potting soil which sits at the bottom of the metal grid. Once in place this completely biodegradable outer will break down and decompose within one to two years.
This system promotes the growth of the instant hedge so that it can root well in open ground. The Mobilane Ready-to-Use Green Screen with Euonymus Dart’s Blanket” can be installed all year round, except when frost is expected.

Soil:
The Mobilane Green Screen needs a humus rich soil suitable for planting shrubs and a trench at least 40 cm deep. The soil must be water permeable with good drainage, free of debris and not have impermeable clay layers. All of which will allow the plant roots to grow down deep into the ground.
There should be no barriers (plastic sheets, concrete slabs for example) to prevent the establishment of a healthy root system. In cases where the soil is not rich in humus, please add a good quality compost.
Watering, Pruning & Fertilising:
Please don’t forget to look after your new hedge though. Depending on the season of planting, fertiliser will be needed. We advise regular watering during the first year after planting, The best pruning months are April/May and September/October.
Brackets:
There are two types of brackets available, a wall mount bracket for attaching to a flat surface and a post bracket which can be used with most types of fence posts.
- Screens of 220 cm height require 6 brackets per screen,
- Screens of 180 cm height require 4 brackets per screen,
- and screens of 100 cm height require 4 brackets per screen.

- Leave about 3 cm between the posts and the screen to allow the plant stems to swell between the iron grid of the screen and the posts.
- The measurements between the posts must adhere to a centre-to-centre distance of 130 to 132 cm.
- Please note that for the total length of the installation there is always at least one more post needed than the number of screens used.
