Hedera Helix White Ripple Ivy is a Living Green Screen fence that is perfect for adding a bit of security and privacy to a residential garden in a green and environmental manner. Average growing ivy grey-green, five lobed leaves and a grey-white border. Evergreen.
Water well and keep the soil moist so that it feels like a well-wrung-out sponge. Place it in an area where it will receive bright indirect light, but no direct light. Ivy can be a little slow to start growing, but after a month or so, you may see new leaves forming.
A beautiful and defined leaf edge makes this standout variegated ivy, versatile as a houseplant used as evergreen infill, and to hang over the edges of hanging baskets, window boxes and patio pots. Grown as a houseplant, ‘White Ripple’ will help reduce indoor air pollution and when it gets a little bigger, it is ideal for smothering a north-facing wall or fence or as a decorative (and weed suppressing), fully hardy groundcover.
It can be harmful if eaten; skin irritant/allergen.

Soil:
The Mobilane Green Screen needs a humus rich soil suitable for planting shrubs. The trench must be at least 40 cm deep. The soil must be water permeable with good drainage. The soil must be free of debris and not have impermeable clay layers to allow the plant roots to grow down deep into the ground.
There should be no barriers (plastic sheets, concrete slabs for example) to prevent the establishment of a healthy root system. In cases where the soil is not rich in humus, a good quality compost should be added.
Watering, Pruning & Fertilising:
Don’t forget to look after your new hedge though. Depending on the season of planting, fertiliser will be needed. During the first year after planting, regular watering is also advised. The best pruning months are April/May and September/October.
Brackets:
There are two types of brackets available, a wall mount bracket for attaching to a flat surface and a post bracket which can be used with most types of fence posts.
- Screens of 220 cm height require 6 brackets per screen,
- Screens of 180 cm height require 4 brackets per screen,
- Screens of 100 cm height require 4 brackets per screen.
Installation:

- Leave about 3 cm between the posts and the screen to allow the plant stems to swell between the iron grid of the screen and the posts.
- The measurements between the posts must adhere to a centre-to-centre distance of 130 to 132 cm.
- Please note that for the total length of the installation there is always at least one more post needed than the number of screens used.
